Welcome to the website of the IAESTE LC Heidelberg! Are you a student at the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg and would like to gain professional and personal experience with an internship abroad? Do you want to join the IAESTE team and help incoming international students?

LC Heidelberg

Who are we?

The Local Committee Heidelberg is made up of students of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines. Our tasks include organizing internships abroad for students of the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg and welcoming the incoming trainees from abroad.  We assist in the application process as well as with the general organization, contact local employers for new internships and plan cultural and social activities for the incoming students. All this is done on a voluntary basis.

We aspire to promote the exchange of ideas and cultures. As a result of the globalization of our society, meeting new people from abroad or even travelling to countries far away has never been easier.

Join our team and help us create memories and experiences!

You can find 10 excellent reasons to work with us here:                      https://www.iaeste.de/en/for-students/working-for-iaeste/

We meet once or twice a month in the Stura Room (Heidelberg, Albrecht-Ueberle-Straße 5). Send us an e-mail or contact us via Instagram, we’d love to get in touch with you!

Outgoing

The IAESTE LC Heidelberg helps students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses at the Heidelberg University to find internships abroad.

The internships usually last from 2 to 3 months and mostly take place during the summer break.  Interns work in research institutes, universities and in private companies, with the salary covering the costs of living abroad. The local committee will take care of lodging and all further formalities such as visas free of charge.

For the regular internship process, you will find useful information here: https://www.iaeste.de/en/for-students/internship-abroad/

With IAESTE, you are not bound to a specific time frame. You can start looking for an internship anytime you like thanks to the so called COBE and FCFS offers. If you would like to find out why these are particularly interesting for students of the University of Heidelberg, you can refer to our Guide for COBE/FCFS Offers.

If you are interested in a paid internship abroad, please register on the IAESTE Exchange Platform (EP). Your account will be verified once you upload an English resume, a transcript of records, a valid enrollment certificate and an English language certificate.
Please contact us when you have found an internship from the list of great offers that interests you and for which you fulfill the requirements, then we will link you to the internship position and you can directly upload your application for this position.
Nothing else should stand in the way of a successful internship!
