Your journey to Germany

Congratulations on being accepted for an IAESTE internship in Germany.

You can find your acceptance documents on the IAESTE Exchange Platform and in the DAAD portal. This is the first step to coming to Germany!

The form entitled “Confirmation of Acceptance” should be completed, signed and uploaded to the Exchange Platform within two weeks. After this, we will start looking for accommodation for your placement period. Therefore, it’s essential to return the “Confirmation of Acceptance” as soon as possible.

If you are not an EU citizen, you may require a visa to enter Germany. You should apply for this as quickly as possible from your nearest German embassy, as it may take several weeks to process. Please also enquire about the possibility of getting a Schengen visa, as this is also valid in Germany’s neighbouring countries.

Please ensure that your passport is valid for the entire internship period. An International Student Identity Card (ISIC) could also prove helpful during your stay.
